World-leading vertical farm manufacturer earns B Corp™ accreditation

After adding more than 150 new team members in three years, Intelligent Growth Solutions (IGS) has attained B Corp™ accreditation, solidifying the business' dedication to supplying the core equipment for sustainable crop production.

Based on the B Impact Assessment™, IGS earned an overall score of 88.4, scoring highly across workers, environment, and community. The rigorous assessment requires commitment across all areas of a business, with the median score for businesses who complete the assessment currently 50.9. B Corporations™ are businesses working to meet the highest standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability.

Team members from all disciplines across IGS were engaged to complete the comprehensive B Impact Assessment™ and the accreditation will be used to drive continued positive change at the company.

With extreme weather negatively impacting food security and the supply chain, IGS' vertical farming technology is at the forefront of sustainable agriculture, reducing the environmental footprint of food production and helping to ensure year-round access to fresh, locally grown produce in communities. IGS-powered farms can also produce young hardwood and softwood trees faster and cheaper than traditional methods to help increase carbon capture and contribute to reforestation efforts.

"Covering everything from our people and governance through to environmental best practice, this very rigorous process was no walk in the park. Achieving B Corp certification marks a significant milestone in our ongoing commitment to developing technology with positive impact at its core," said David Farquhar, CEO of IGS. "Sustainability isn't just a buzzword at IGS: our whole ethos is built on it. Officially being a B Corporation reflects the hard work and dedication of our entire crew as we focus on delivering technology that unlocks new opportunities for growers and food producers across the world."

David continued: "At IGS, our sustainable practices stretch far beyond the technology: we want to make a broader impact across the industries we serve, therefore employee growth, development and retention are also key objectives. Since we were founded 10 years ago, our crew has grown exponentially, and our key focus internally will always be to look after our employees' wellbeing, which goes hand in hand with our sustainability goals.

"We look forward to continuing our mission of working in tandem with traditional farming and providing customers with the very best technology to produce fresh, nutritious and environmentally friendly crops worldwide while building future supply chain resilience."
