Yonder, the US based travel platform that invites people to reconnect with the natural world with its nature based accommodation focus, is today launching its UK collection with over 5000 rural self catering properties and a dedicated UK operations team lead by Andy Woodward, Executive Director, UK & Ireland and Emma Johnson, Director of Operations, UK & Ireland.

“Unlike most conventional booking agencies that require travellers to sort through thousands of urban listings, Yonder is a platform that exclusively features rural experiences,” said co-founder and CEO Bill Lee. “Yonder is launching its first collection outside of the US today due to the maturity of the UK rural accommodation market and all the incredible nature-rich options. Later this year we will be expanding into Italy followed shortly by six other countries.”

Featured properties include KingFishers, eco friendly holiday cottages located in a secluded 52-acre valley, a few miles from Branscombe beach in East Devon. Alternatively, The Shearing Shed, Old Farm Dorn, in The Cotswolds and Hoe Grange Holidays, a cluster of self catering cabins set on a Peak District farm.

Both of the team are seasoned industry operators, Woodward as former CEO of Farm Stay UK, and Johnson an experienced property manager and former regional manager for Sykes Cottages.

“We look for properties that meet the highest hospitality and safety standards and offer opportunities to connect with nature,” said Andy Woodward, UK Director at Yonder. “The diversity of options that restore our connection to nature is what sets Yonder apart.”

Yonder allows guests to search for UK accommodation by region and live availability. It’s integrated with reservations systems SuperControl and NextPax, with others in the development pipeline, and offers calendar sync for all major reservations platforms. The Yonder operating structure allows them to offer a competitive 8% commission to its accommodation owners. Yonder is actively recruiting accommodation to join the site with ambitions to double its listing in Q3 2021.

Yonder is legally operating as a Public Benefits Corporation, which means it places equal importance on creating both profit and positive societal and environmental impact. Accommodation owners who join the platform are required to demonstrate a commitment to the surrounding nature around their properties, and Yonder is actively working to implement an internal carbon plan, to best assess and address impact areas and how to mitigate them.
