Tiktok Farming Stars Team Up With Sp Energy Networks For Life-saving Campaign
Social media farming stars Cammy Wilson and Erin McNaught have teamed up with electricity network operator SP Energy Networks to highlight how to stay safe while working around overhead power lines and underground electricity cables on farm and agricultural land.
With millions of views of the trials and tribulations of their daily lives in Ayrshire and North Wales across TikTok and Instagram, and hundreds of thousands of followers, Cammy (The Sheep Game) and Erin (erinpandyfarm) are the perfect pair to remind farmers, contractors and landowners of the potential electrical dangers on their sites and the warning signs to look out for.
With thousands of kilometres of overhead lines and underground cables across the network, it could only take a split second for tractors, harvesters, excavators and other heavy equipment - used across farms and fields every day - to come into contact with live electrical equipment, with potentially devastating consequences.
More than 1,000 safety incidents were reported on farms and fields across the SP Energy Networks patch in 2025, including a fatal incident where a vehicle-mounted crane came into contact with an 11kV overhead line.
Cammy and Erin's warning signs highlight the everyday hazards to look out for and the practical checks that can help prevent incidents and even save lives.
Cammy said: "We see overhead power lines running across our fields every day, but most of the time people don't even think about them. That's the problem. It only takes one moment of not looking up to change everything – and with farm machinery getting bigger, it's now easier than ever to get closer to overhead power lines than you realise.
"That's why knowing the warning signs and your height clearance is essential. One of the simplest things you can do is know the height of your machinery and the height of any overhead lines on your farm. It's an easy step to take and one that could even save your life."
Erin added: "On a busy farm it's easy to get caught up in the day-to-day and the risks hiding in plain sight are often the ones that catch you out.
"Since partnering with SP Energy Networks, I look at our farmland completely differently. Every day I run through the warning signs in my head - where are the lines? What's stacked underneath them? What's my height clearance? They're simple questions that every farmer should be asking regularly, because the consequences can be deadly."

With increasingly large machinery and tight deadlines as harvest gets underway, it's more important than ever to keep electrical safety front of mind.
