Strutt & Parker has launched a directory of nature-friendly grants to help farmers and landowners in England navigate what has become a complex and confusing system for environmental funding.

The directory is available on Strutt & Parker's website at rural.struttandparker.com.

Lauren Clarke, a Natural Capital advisor based in the Exeter office of Strutt & Parker, says: "The closure of key Government schemes like the Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) and Capital Grants has created uncertainty in the funding landscape for farmers and landowners. These changes have left a gap in accessible agri-environmental funding at a time when nature recovery and climate resilience is hugely important.

"However, a range of funding opportunities remains available to support the creation, restoration and enhancement of environmental features. Whether it is creating woodland, planting a hedgerow or creating species rich grassland, our directory outlines the opportunities currently available to landowners through the public or private sector."

The directory includes schemes offered by Defra, the Forestry Commission, water companies and charities.

Lauren Clarke adds: "Although many of the schemes detailed are much narrower in their focus than the SFI – and we eagerly look forward to its reintroduction in 2026 – we know that farmers are keen to explore if there are alternatives. We wanted to make it simple for them to see what may be on offer."
