Sam Allison joins Origin as Sales Manager for the West Midlands and Wales
Efficient use of fertiliser and maximising data to improve nutrition are some of the focuses for Sam Allison, who joins Origin Soil Nutrition as Sales Manager for the West Midlands and Wales.
Sam, who graduated from Harper Adams University with a BSc in Agriculture and Sustainable Crop Production, previously worked as a Crop Production Manager for a fresh produce grower in Chichester, West Sussex. With this experience, he joins Origin with a clear understanding of why delivering the correct nutrition is essential to the success of any crop.
“The fresh produce world is demanding and fast-paced. I very quickly realised how important targeted application and correctly timed nutritional inputs are to maximising the potential of any crop,” says Sam.
“I want to use my practical and technical experience to help farms improve and develop their crop nutrition strategy to becoming more efficient and sustainable. I enjoy using crop and soil data to influence decision-making and build nutrition plans, improve farm reliance and reduce carbon emissions.”
Sam is based in the West Midlands, which means he will be in close contact with customers in the region, as well as in reach of Origin’s three terminals in the west – Avonmouth, Sharpness and Newport – in under an hour. Sam has already begun training for his FACTS qualification.
