Mole Valley Farmers headlines Royal Cornwall Show
Mole Valley Farmers has secured a three-year headline sponsorship deal with the Royal Cornwall Show, on top of its existing cattle class commitments.
The farmer-owned co-operative has supported the event for many years, and has long aspired to become headline sponsor. "The Royal Cornwall is our flagship event, and signing this deal to sponsor the entire beef and dairy sections is an important step to further demonstrate our commitment to farmers across the region," says Kevin Singleton, Managing Director at Mole Valley.
The partnership will help to support the Royal Cornwall Agricultural Association's (RCAA's) charitable remit, delivering farming and food education programmes to schoolchildren across Cornwall, while also promoting the outstanding work of farmers and rural communities.
"This includes helping to run a mobile classroom which goes into schools to teach children about farming and food chain, as well as work with colleges and sixth forms to promote agricultural careers," notes Mr Singleton. "Of course, the Show in itself is a great educational resource, alongside the two-day farming and countryside event that hosts 1,600 schoolchildren each year."
Mole Valley will continue its longstanding sponsorship of individual breed societies, including classes for Holstein, Ayrshire, Guernsey, Jersey and British Blue breeds, alongside the Cattle Young Handlers and the David Higman Memorial Challenge Trophy for the best group of three animals.
"Cattle showing offers a great opportunity for farmers to demonstrate breeding excellence in the ring as well as building bridges with the general public," says Mr Singleton. "It's so important for farmers to come together and celebrate successes, and we're delighted to help facilitate that."
Mark Stoddart, CEO at the RCAA, adds: "The RCAA and Mole Valley Farmers share strong values around supporting British agriculture, championing our farming communities and inspiring the next generation. This partnership provides a strong and unified platform for the entire cattle showing community for the next three years and beyond."
