Build your career in agriculture with the ForFarmers Commercial Development Programme
Ambitious, passionate, and forward-thinking individuals looking to develop their careers in the agri-feed industry are encouraged to apply for the two-year ForFarmers Commercial Development Programme, starting in September 2027.
Built around a series of six and nine month placements, the programme spans the organisation and can include work in field sales, technical support, sustainability and marketing. These placements give participants hands-on experience and a broad understanding of the livestock feed industry and the ForFarmers business.
Working together, ForFarmers and each successful candidate will shape a placement journey that reflects their interests and the business needs. Along the way, participants will receive industry-leading training, develop practical commercial skills and build a strong foundation for their future career.
"At ForFarmers, we work side-by-side with farmers, understanding their business needs, helping them navigate the opportunities and challenges the industry presents," says Greg Edwards, ForFarmers Commercial Director.
"As a total feed business, our people combine expert nutritional advice with the optimal feed solutions to help customers improve livestock performance, efficiency and the returns from their businesses. Having talented, motivated people within our team is fundamental to delivering against that ambition.
"The Commercial Development Programme provides an opportunity to experience different areas of the ForFarmers business, learn from colleagues across departments and will provide an opportunity to challenge the status quo.
"At the end of the two years, participants will have a much clearer understanding of where their skills and interests lie. Our aim is then to work with each individual to identify a full-time role where they can take on greater responsibility, continue their development and make a real difference to our business."
Importantly, the programme isn't just for graduates or those starting their first job.
"Motivation and attitude are key," adds Greg. "We welcome applications from people with and without degrees, and from those at different stages of their careers.
"If you have a passion for agriculture, a can-do attitude, and the ambition to succeed, we want to hear from you. Come and join ForFarmers and let us feed your career."
Millie Stevens entered the ForFarmers Commercial Development Programme in June 2025.
"The programme has given me a plethora of new skills whilst improving and expanding on my knowledge of the industry," Millie says. "The opportunities within the programme, such as team building, attending meetings to discuss new products, being invited to conferences and being on farm with experienced nutritionists has given me so much inspiration for my future role within the industry.
"This programme has many different placement options and there really is something for everyone whether you are from a farming background or not," she adds.
