Agrii has announced that Chris Tye has been promoted to Managing Director of Agrii UK, effective 1^st August. He succeeds Ronan Hughes, who moves into a new role for Agrii’s parent organisation, Origin, that will oversee the running of its agriculture businesses across Ireland and the UK, including Agrii UK.

Chris joined Agrii five years ago as Head of Fertiliser and has taken on progressively broader responsibilities, most recently becoming its Commercial Director.

Ronan had been Agrii’s Managing Director since 2010, when Agrii was formed following Origin's acquisition of UAP and Masstock, creating the UK’s largest agronomy services provider. His tenure has seen significant investment into the UK business, most notably the expansion of its research facilities at its Throws Farm Technology Centre in Essex, including the new £1m glasshouse in 2025.
